The kids were in small groups and did some research on the surrounding states of Indiana. Two groups worked on other states. Everyone did a great job learning about these Midwestern states and comparing them to Indiana. The kids seemed to have fun letting their creative sides loose!
We had a GREAT Halloween party and the kids had tons of fun. A big thank you to Noah's mom for organizing the party and to all the other awesome moms and dad for coming and helping out! It was a great day!
We're celebrating Red Ribbon Week today until next Wednesday. Everyday I'll add a new picture to share. Thursday - We're RED-y to Live Drug Free (wear red) Friday - Real Superheros Don't Bully or Do Drugs (wear super hero gear or camouflage) Monday - Give Drugs the Boot (Wear western wear and or boots) Tuesday - We're CRAZY About Making Healthy Choices (wear mismatched clothes) Wednesday - Tigers are Proud to be Drug and Bully Free (spirit wear) We had a beautiful day at Taltree last week. I don't think we could have asked for more perfect weather! Miss Madalyn was our guide for the hike and taught us about many different plants, trees, Taltree's two Swans, and Taltree Arboretum itself. We also go to take a walk through the Children's Garden (rather quickly) and saw some bunnies, turkeys, goats, and chickens. In the Fall, Taltree also has a Trail of Scarecrows where classrooms and schools from the area create a scarecrow to be put on display at Taltree. It was nice to take a walk through it and find Three Creek's scarecrow and Tri-Creek's Adventure Club scarecrow. The kids seemed to really enjoy themselves! Taltree is a great trip for the whole family as well!
We are hard at work reading here at school. Whether it's on the laptops, with a book, with a partner, or with me, we are loving our reading time! Keep up the great work third grade!! Welcome back! I am excited to start a new year with all of you! We have a lot of fun things planned this year in third grade. I hope you all enjoyed your summer and are ready to get back to it!
We started using Go Noodle today as a way to take some "brain breaks" during the day. The kids seem to really love it. There are tons of fun videos, exercises, and other activities for the kids to watch and do. Go Noodle is a great website for kids to check out and play with over the summer. It's completely free and easy to sign up! Click on the picture below to check it out and sign up! Did I mention it's free?!?!?
We had a great day at the museum! The kids were able to see lots of cool exhibits. It was nice to explore science outside the classroom for a day!
